Event Details

Joel Salatin has been called the most influential farmer in America.  He is the owner of the “beyond-organic” Polyface Farm, the author of 8 books, and one of the leading voices in the sustainable food movement today.

In addition to allowing you the opportunity to meet and listen to Joel Salatin and in an intimate setting, the event will celebrate the “Local Food Leaders” who are putting Joel Salatin’s principles into practice in our community.  The meal will feature food prepared with local ingredients from the People's Food Co-op, The Grange Kitchen and Bar, The Raven's Club, Silvio's Organic Pizza, and The Brinery.

There will be an optional pre-event tour of the Washtenaw Food Hub from 3:30 - 4:00 PM for those interested in learning more about this exciting project.

The People's Food Co-op will donate profits to the Washtenaw Food Hub to continue their efforts in our food community.

Join us to celebrate Joel Salatin's influence on our community and to support Michigan's sustainable food future!

People's Food Co-op of Ann Arbor

The People's Food Co-op is Ann Arbor's first community-owned natural-foods grocery store.  For over 40 years we've served our community by offering local, natural, and organic options in every department of the store.  We provide a space for the community to gather around fresh, healthy food in our very own Cafe Verde, which serves on-the-go and hot-bar meals, fair-trade organic coffee, tea, fresh juices, and house-made baked goods.

We offer classes, workshops, and events on a regular basis to provide our community with access to knowledge around their own health and well-being, and the health of our community and environment.  For further information or to request new classes, please contact our Education and Outreach Coordinator Karen Vigmostad at outreach@peoplesfood.coop or 734-994-4589.
